Disillusioned by a city 

Comfortable and beautiful.

The skyline never looked so pretty.

Billboards puking on the streets.

Don’t go out there alone,

The police are in the mood for murder.

Death is the way of power

in this country

And power is all that is real to our leaders.

Shortsighted and self-minded.

We are the United States of irrational nationals.

Overweening overlords. 

Arbiters of arrogance.

The concocted gods will never bequeath vengeance on their awful hearts.

We cannot wait on the imaginary to fix the problems which we, as a species, have created.
